The diagnosis of all leukemia, leads people to fear. But leukemia patients quite a lot and almost all of them after the first period of fear and confusion begin to seek out those who are in the same situation. And also trying to learn something about their illness and its treatment methods. And know that if 20 years ago, all people suffering from leukemia, have been doomed, but now the situation has changed: most survive and return to normal life.

What is leukemia

All Leukemia - a general term describing a group of acute and chronic neoplastic diseases of the blood system? This disease is "white" blood, i.e., leukocytes, before it was called leukemia.

White blood cells in the body perform a protective function. All of them can be divided into two broad groups: granulocytes (their function - phagocytosis, i.e., the destruction of bacteria and viruses by swallowing) and lymphocytes (they are in response to invading bacteria and viruses produce antibodies specific substances, which are glued together with bacteria and viruses and removed from the body). All types of white blood cells produced by bone marrow.

Leukemia leukocytes do not ripen until the end, so they cannot perform their inherent functions to protect the body against viruses and bacteria. The number of these immature cells (blasts) literally fills the circulatory system and internal organs, is the main cause of symptoms - anemia, bleeding, various infections, irritations, increase, and disrupts the functioning of the affected organs.

Why it may be leukemia?

Nobody knows the true causes of this disease. But it was noticed that leukemia occurs more often after ionizing radiation, under the influence of certain chemicals, viruses. Contributing factors are the genetic characteristics of the structure of the organism.

Types of Leukemia

Leukemia can be acute or chronic. Acute leukemia is divided into acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL - if proliferating blast cells) and acute myeloid leukemia.

Chronic leukemia is divided into chronic lymphocytic leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and hairy-cell leukemia (ill mostly older men).

How is acute leukemia

Acute leukemia begins suddenly with high fever, sometimes with a sore throat or with stomatitis with severe symptoms of bleeding gums. Appears as weakness, fatigue, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, and pain in the bones. Increased liver, spleen, lymph nodes, appears reddish-bluish rash, bruises on the body, epistaxis. Rapidly growing body weight loss, there may be internal bleeding.

On the background of the disease appear typical changes in the blood - the emergence of a large number of immature white blood cells (blasts).

Manifestations of chronic leukemia

chronic leukemia is slower, sometimes within a few years. All the symptoms are more smoothed. Periods of exacerbation are usually followed by periods of remission (the temporary absence of symptoms).

This Leukemia is also known as cancer of the white blood cells. This disease cause due to immature white blood cells continuously multiplies and overproduced in bone marrow. This disease makes damage to normal cells in bone marrow, and by spreading infiltration to other organs in human body. This disease is common in children age two to five. Another peak of this disease is in old age. This disease can be curable 80% in children and about 40% to 65% in adults. This disease can be cure with long term treatment. This All Leukemia also termed as Lymphocytic or Lymphoblastic. This term is referred to those cells which are involved in this disease but cells those are normal termed as Lymphocytes but are seen relatively immature or said as state of blast.

All Leukemia Leukocytes do not ripen until end so they cannot perform their function of protecting body against viruses and bacteria. And the number of these immature cells fills circulatory system and internal organs which causes anemia, bleeding, irritations, various infections and many other symptoms. This All Leukemia begins with sudden high fever sometimes with sore throat with some stomach problems along with severe gum bleeding, bruises on body, rapidly growing or body weight loss. There may be internal bleeding that cannot be seen or diagnose from outside. This disease makes several changes in blood and emergence of large number of immature white blood cells. But Chronic Leukemia is slower sometimes within few years.

All Leukemia

The earlier this disease is detected more effective treatment can be done. Main aim in this problem is to induce a lasting remission termed as absence of detectable cancer cells in human body its less than 5% cells in bone marrow. Treatment that is more effective includes these treatments: Chemotherapy, radiation Therapy, steroids bone marrow or stem cells transplants and growth factors Chemotherapy is main treatment for this problem this is also very effective treatment. Patient suffering from this disease go through many combination and different treatment. In this case there is no surgical option in this chemotherapy. Because in Distribution of malignant cells in wide range inside human body. Generally cytotoxic chemotherapy for patients of this disease multiple anti leukemic drugs in various combinations for treatment is used. This treatment of chemotherapy consists of 3 phases that play major parts in this treatment and that are: Remission Induction, intensification and maintenance therapy that cure patients suffering from this disease.

Causes Of Leukemia

Leukemia is a disease of the bone marrow, which is most common in children and leads to cancer of the blood. Blood filled in immature tumor cells causing humans to suffer. Causes of leukemia are still unknown. It is known that cells that are part of our blood have the potential to grow old and die. Then in the "womb" - bone marrow stem cells appear new ones. This are red blood cells that carry oxygen and platelets and promote blood clotting, and white blood cells - are struggling with various ...
